If Calacatta is the surface that commands attention, Statuario is the one that earns it. Bolder in its veining than Carrara, more architectural in its movement than Calacatta, Statuario occupies a unique position in the white marble family. It is the surface that genuine marble collectors and serious interior designers have always treated as the premium tier of the white marble world, and the sintered stone version now delivers that aesthetic with the practical performance that a working kitchen actually requires.

Why Statuario Is Different from Calacatta
Both are white marble aesthetics. The distinction is in the character of the veining. Calacatta has veining that tends toward gold and warm grey, with movement that flows organically across the surface. Statuario has veining that is bolder, more architectural, and typically in a cooler grey or near-black tone. Where Calacatta is warm and flowing, Statuario is cool and decisive.
For a kitchen designed around a contemporary or minimalist aesthetic, where the stone is meant to make a statement without sentimentality, Statuario is often the more precise choice. For a kitchen with warmth in the palette and timber in the joinery, Calacatta is usually the better fit. We will work through this with you at the showroom once we understand your specific brief.
The White Marble Family: A Practical Guide
The choice between Statuario, Calacatta, Carrara, and Vagli is ultimately a conversation about character, warmth, and the scale of the pattern you want working in your space. At sample size, these differences are partially visible. At 1600 by 3200mm, standing in front of each slab in sequence, they are immediately and unmistakably clear.
This is why our showroom exists. Not to show you tiles. To show you slabs. The decision you make at full size is the right decision. The decision you make from a sample and a website is a guess, even an educated one.

What is the difference between Statuario and Calacatta in sintered stone?
Statuario has a brighter white base with bolder, more architectural grey or near-black veining. Calacatta has a warm white base with veining in gold and warm grey tones. Statuario reads cooler and more contemporary. Calacatta reads warmer and more classical. See our full Calacatta guide for a detailed comparison.
Is Vagli Gold the same as Calacatta Gold?
No. Vagli Gold comes from the Vagli marble tradition of Tuscany, a different quarrying area with its own aesthetic character. The gold in Vagli Gold has a deeper, more saturated quality. Calacatta Gold has a brighter, more contrasted gold against a purer white. Both are displayed at our showroom and the difference is clear at full slab size.
I want a white kitchen but no pattern at all. What do you recommend?
Pure White, Creamy White, or Premium Elegant White are our three solid-white surfaces. Each has a different base tone and finish. Pure White is the most luminous and clean. Creamy White has a soft warmth. Premium Elegant White is the most refined. All three are displayed at our showroom.
